Why is this metric useful?
Search traffic on keywords is essential to devise a good ASO strategy. However, the Apple App Store and Google Play Store do not disclose the number of searches (traffic values) on keywords. To overcome this, using our own algorithms, we provide a Volume.
How do we calculate it?
For iOS apps, we use Apple’s Popularity Score wherever we can since we have already discovered a direct correlation between impressions and keyword popularities. (Apple only provides these scores for Apple Search Ads countries.) For the rest of the countries, we use our own algorithm to estimate search volumes.
We use our algorithm for Google Play Store apps to estimate search volumes.
What is the methodology?
This metric is an estimate of the relative search volume for each keyword. We benchmark the most searched keyword with a score of 100 on a scale of 0 to 100 and rank the rest accordingly.
How often is the data updated?
We update the data daily for the Search Ads enabled countries and once a month for the rest.
What is the data coverage?
We cover both the Apple App Store and Google Play Store.
