Understanding how your competitors are performing in the market is essential for shaping your strategy, especially when you can gain insights into their estimated downloads and revenue.

MobileAction’s Top Apps tool allows you to track the top-performing apps in any market and category, helping you stay ahead of the competition.

Here’s how you can make the most of the Top Apps:

1- First, click on the Top Apps option under the Market Trends in your dashboard.

2- Choose the month and the storefront you want to get insights for. Remember, Top Apps provides monthly data, so you’ll always be analyzing trends based on full months.

3- Select the category you’re interested in analyzing. By default, the Top Apps table shows data for all categories, but you can filter it down to your preferred one for more focused insights.

  • Under the category selection, you will see the taxonomy filters for you to better specify your analysis. Select either general app categories or any App Taxonomy / Game Taxonomy before listing the top apps.

*Tip: For more information, see MobileAction Customer Success Manager Rebecca Ewang's quick guide on taxonomy below.

4- Once you’ve selected the month and category, the table will automatically sort by estimated downloads. You’ll see each app listed alongside its publisher, category, download and revenue estimates, and user ratings. It’s a great way to see who’s leading the pack and how they’re performing.

! If you’d like to save the list for later analysis or share it with your team, simply click the CSV button in the top-right corner to download the data.

Remember, the Top Apps provides valuable insights into market trends, helping you make data-driven decisions. By tracking competitor performance and identifying key players in your category, you can better position your own app for success.
