Over 60% of App Store downloads occur after a search, so search result ads are crucial for driving paid user acquisition. Bidding on the right keywords at the right amounts can significantly enhance your app's visibility and success.

To gain a competitive edge, it's essential to understand your competitors' paid keyword strategies. MobileAction’s Search by App tool provides detailed insights into what keywords an app and its competitors are bidding on, how many impressions they receive, and how many apps compete for those keywords. Let’s take a closer look at how you can use this tool to benefit from its advantages to the fullest.

How to use Search by App

1. Click on Search by App under the Search Ads Intelligence tool.

2. Enter the name of the app you want to analyze for search results ads paid keywords.

3. Choose the storefront and date range you want to examine for the selected app’s paid keyword list.

You can also see in how many countries the selected app is running search result ads. Click on “x Active Countries” in the bar above the table to view the pop-up page displaying the list of countries, their Search Ads Visibility Score and the total number of paid keywords in each storefront.

To deepen your analysis, select time ranges or download the data by clicking the CSV button in the pop-up.

4. Back to the Search by App tool, review the list of keywords the selected app is bidding on, including their impression shares, the list of apps competing for each keyword, the organic visibility score of the app for each keyword, and the search popularity score of each keyword.

5. If you need to attain more specific information, you can always filter further by clicking on the filter button on the left-hand side and selecting from the available filtering options.

If you need to export the data, you can download the full list of keywords and related data as a CSV document by clicking the CSV button at the top-right corner.
