Creatives, advertisers, ad publishers, and developers are the main components of paid advertising, and you’ll need a deep understanding of each to build a strategy that showcases your app to the right audience. Under MobileAction’s Ad Intelligence, there is a section filled with tools dedicated to paid advertising market analysis. Here, you can track top leaders in the industry or your category, understand their paid ad strategies, and identify the best-case scenarios to build your own strategy. In this article, you’ll learn what each top chart tool is capable of and how to use them to achieve the best results.

Top Advertisers

Using this tool, you can view the top advertisers who run ads aggressively and observe their spending behavior. You can filter the apps by category, country, ad network, and selected store within a defined timeframe. These filters allow you to understand the aggressive advertisers in your category or analyze your competitors’ behaviors.

Let’s take a closer look at where each of these filters is located. The search tab on the upper part of the page is to search for an app to analyze its creative strategies. From the “Translation” dropdown menu, you can choose to see the English translations of keywords. This can be useful when trying to see the ad names of apps that build creatives in different languages.

Using the “Custom Alerts button, you can create custom alerts for specific actions you want to be notified about. For example, if any changes happen to an app you want to follow closely, you can be notified through email or Slack about that specific change.

With Advanced Filters, you can narrow your search for more specific results. You can filter by app name, app keyword, app publisher, first seen, top charts, app category, app collection, platform, country, ad network, app category, and date range. Using the “+” buttons on the left, you can add different filters and shape your search accordingly.

Using the “Save Filter As” and “Load Filter” buttons on the left, you can either save your filter combinations for future searches or load one of your old filter combinations to use again for similar searches.

If you want to report the data or save it for future use, you can export the data on your screen as a CSV file using the “Export as CSV” button.

At the bottom, you’ll see the list of Top Advertisers, including their Icon, App Name, Type (whether they are an advertiser, publisher, or both), Developer, Ad Networks, Category, Unique Creatives, and Impression Score. If you hover over one of the apps, you can add it to your collection by clicking the “+” button.

Top Ad Publishers

With Top Ad Publishers, you can see which apps are preferred the most by advertisers, determine the most populated apps, and identify the ad networks through which the ads are published. All you need to do is add your filters, and voila! You’ll have all the information you need in seconds.

The Top Ad Publishers tool is very similar to Top Advertisers. You can use the search bar to search for any app, the “Translation” button to change the language, and “Custom Alerts” to create custom alerts for specific actions you want to be notified about.

You can filter your search by Platform, Country, Ad Network, App Category, and Date Range to find the top ad publishers that match your filters. Additionally, you can add any ad publisher to your collection using the “+” button that appears when you hover over it.

Top Creatives

The Top Creatives tool allows you to discover the best-performing creatives that match your filters. You can filter the creative library by store, country, ad network, app name, media title, and media type within a timeframe of your choice. This helps you see which creatives are performing better in your category and identify the types and trends that may work for you as well.

The first part of Top Creatives is again very similar to the rest of the Top Charts tools. The biggest difference here is the Advanced Filters. In addition to the existing filters in each tool, you can also narrow down your research with Media Format, Media State, Media Title, Media Height, Media Width, Video Duration and Active Duration.

Once you adjust your filters, you can see the list of top creatives at the bottom of the page. Using the “Export as CSV'' button, you can export your results as a CSV file. With the button next to it, you can switch the top creatives view between list and grid options. You’ll see a lot of necessary information about each creative shown, but if you need more data on a creative listed, you can click on it for further details about that specific creative. From the “Save to Collection” button, you can also save that creative to one of your collections for future reference.

Top Developers

With Top Developers, you can see a list of app publishers (developers) and their best-performing apps. You can filter them according to platform, category, network, and country for a desired date andiscover the strategies of top app developers.

The top part of the Top Developers is the same as the other top charts tools. You can again filter down your developer search, translate the results and export your results as a CSV file. The list below is the list of Top Developers in the industry according to your searches. On that list you can see their names, developers’ apps, ad networks, number of creatives and impression scores.

This is a wrap of how to benefit from the top charts tools of Ad Intelligence! If you have further questions or encounter any issues, feel free to contact your dedicated Account Manager via your communication channels or the support team via Intercom.
